Welcome – and thanks for scanning! That sticker in your hand is Pictured Rocks – the painted cliffs of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula, where mineral-stained sandstone rises straight out of the clearest water in Michigan. Each design starts as one of our own photographs of the place, reworked into this illustrated style.
It is one of the stops on our four-landmark road trip, and one of the places we drive back to again and again with a camera in hand. Follow along for both peninsulas – the bridge at night, the cliffs at golden hour, the birds every morning, and everything in between.
